Movie Loft presents “Hardware”

Movie Loft brings the holiday cheer and AI fear with a fundraiser for Siembra NC!

Movie Loft jingles into December with a screening of the dystopian sci-fi cyberpunk horror Hardware(1990)!

From director Richard Stanley (Color Out of Space, Dust Devil) comes this metallic tale teeming with grease, sex, gore and post-apocalyptic violence.

A space marine (Dylan McDermott) buys robot parts and gifts them to his sculptor girlfriend (Stacey Travis) for Christmas. But, uh-oh, the robot head is from a M.A.R.K. 13 cyborg, capable of rebuilding itself and very interested in killing. Along for the rampage are also the voice of Iggy Pop, Lemmy as a cab driver, and a thumping soundtrack full of those two plus PIL and Ministry (and a score by Simon Boswell)!

Movie Loft will be turning over all donations this month to Siembra NC, “a grassroots organization focused on defending our communities from abusive employers and landlords, ICE, and bad políticos.”

Hot dogs doggin’ and associated records spinnin’ starting at 7 pm. Flick to roll around 8 pm. FREE! Donations appreciated. BYO or sample what’s on hand.
