Violent Sorrow, Modern Ecstasy – indie film fundraiser
An open house fundraiser for an upcoming indie cyberpunk film adaptation of Macbeth!
Are you interested in cyberpunk? Shakespeare? Indie filmmaking? Supporting the arts? Free food, hanging out, watching movies, and having a good time? Then come to a fundraiser to support the creation of an original indie film Violent Sorrow, Modern Ecstasy (VSME), directed by Theo Holt, a Chapel Hill native and current student in USC film school’s graduate program.
VSME is set 100 years in the future, when a doctor must choose between saving his own life or saving Los Angeles from a murderous dictator. Support this film if, in a world that often seems wrong, you still have hope.
If you can’t make the event, but still want to support us remotely, please consider donating to the film here. Any amount makes a world of difference.
Donations (cash/Venmo) at the door. Event starts at 6:30 pm. At 7 pm, there will be a brief presentation from the director about the film, followed by a screening of some original work, with time for discussion afterwards! Food and beverages will be provided.
