Sunburned Hand of the Man is a free-rock band based out of Massachusetts with a permanently shifting line-up drawing from well over 50 members. The loose nature of the band means you never really know what to expect when you see them, but it’ll probably be some freaky telepod accident of pagan drum circle Krautrock cut with a psychedelic action-jazz meltdown.
Franklin’s Mint is a project of long-time Sunburned member Phil Franklin. Franklin’s Mint was born at the turn of the millenium during a period when Sunburned was playing a weekly gig in the backroom of an Irish trad pub. The band had a lot of time to fill during these nights so Phil Franklin started playing sets of his own music plus some covers all backed by Sunburned members.
Spacelab will open the evening, yes you read that correctly. This Durham band’s live performances are more elusive than sasquatch, so this is a rare opportunity to hear their basement-mutant space rock live and in the flesh!
